The rocks forming the canyon walls began taking shape around 136 million years ago from sediment and calcium minerals — evidence that this region of Chiapas was once covered by a shallow sea.
After the boat ride, you visit Chiapa de Corzo, a colonial city and Pueblo Mágico. There you'll see La Fuente, the Iglesia de Santo Domingo, and Los Portales — icons of its rich history and architecture.
